BIBLE STUDY OF BOOK OF LUKE WEEK # 5 (QUESTIONS)

My Answers:

 

1).   God inspired Dr. Luke the historian to include who in his work? Women

 

2).   Name some rolls women played in Jesus' life. Disciples, mothers, great faith, and much more.

 

3).   What was Jesus concern about with Mary and Martha? He was concern about women putting their spiritual responsibilities ahead of their physical ones.

 

4).   What did Martha choose? What did Mary choose? Mary's chose was spiritual, and Martha was physical.

 

5).   The important of spiritual concerns, of having a relationship with God is emphasized again in Luke's report of a woman calling out to Jesus: Who was this woman?  He was talking about Mary.

 

6).   What did Dr. Luke think about women work?  Luke showed by this and many other examples that service to others was not to be looked down on and delegated as "woman's work," but was an integral part of being a Christian for both men and women.

7).    Who was the first European convert? Lydia from Macedonia

 

8).    Explain Acts 16:9-15.  God sent Apostle Paul to Macedonia to preach salvation to them; Paul thought that it was a man from his dream, but it was woman named Lydia, and she got saved with others. She worshipped God, but was not baptized or saved through Jesus Christ.

 

9).    What do new life in Christ means to a convert? It mean we are new creatures in Christ Jesus our Lord, it means we are now a part of God's family, it means we are baptized into Christ, and have clothed ourselves with Christ.

 

10).  What is the comparison of John the Baptist and Jesus?  Their parents' introduction, angels appeared to both, signs were given to both, and both women couldn't have children, but did by God's grace.

 

11).  The Idumaean people was descendant of Esau, which was the brother of who? Jacob

 

12).  Name the Roman Emperors mentioned in the New Testament.  Augustus, Tiberius, Claudius, and Nero.

 

13).  Who was the king of Judea when Jesus was born?  King Herod, the Great
