BIBLE STUDY WEEK # 4 (ANSWER TO QUESTIONS)

1. Describe no faith and little faith.

Having no faith means you don't believe, and lack the ability to trust God, and no faith is insufficient faith. Living by faith is what God desire from His people. Faith is not based upon mere human wisdom, but
upon God's Word. Little faith is focused on signs and earthly worries instead of learning the greater spiritual principles God wants to teach us.

2. What principle all Christians must live by?

Whatever is not of faith is sin.

3. Paul begins and ends the epistle of Romans stating that we must be obedient to the what?

Paul teaches that we must walk by faith, and that we must be obedient to the faith of Jesus Christ.

4. Faith is based upon God's Word and not upon what?

Faith is based upon God's Word and not upon mere human wisdom.

5. Where does faith come from?

Faith comes from hearing the God's Word which revealed everything we need to know about life and godliness.

6. We see that weak faith demonstrate in Matthew 16:5-10 is called what?

This is called little faith

7. Why was Jesus sleeping during the storm in Matthew 8:23-27?

He slept at this time to try the faith of His disciples.

8. In Matthew 8:23-27 what kind of faith did Christ say the disciples had?

They were fearful and of little faith.

9. What is insufficient faith?

Insufficient Faith Comes From an Inadequate Knowledge of the Truth (Acts 19:1-7)

10. What does Paul mean by saying, "whatever is not from faith is sin?"

The Apostle Paul means that we must go to God's Word, learn His will, and live according to His will. Thus, we live by faith. And we must be confident that everything we do is according to God's will because He said: he who doubt is condemned" (Romans 14:23)

Let's look at three points……

1. Paul's point in Romans 4:20 is that faith glorifies God: "Abraham grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God." The reason faithless acts are sin is that they don't glorify God as trustworthy.

2. In 1 Corinthians 10:31, Paul said, "Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." But you can't glorify God if you are dishonoring him by not trusting him. So where there is no faith, 1 Corinthians 10:31 is being disobeyed in every action (no matter how neutral in itself).

3. Hebrews 11:6 says, "Without faith it is impossible to please God." Therefore, where there is no faith, all acts displease God.
