Bible Study: “God Still Heal through His Word” Week # 6

SUBJECT:         "God's Word is Medicine"

God's Word makes it perfectly clear that it is God's will that you are to be well, healthy, and whole. Why do we miss that? The same blood Jesus shed on Calvary's tree for your redemption was also shed that we might be free from sickness and disease.  The wounds He received bleed, so His blood through those stripes heals us today.  Yes, we will die, but that does not mean we have to be sick when we do. Our bodies will give up due to age, but while we live we can be healthy and whole. Matthew 8:17 says that Jesus Himself bore our sickness and carried our diseases. He did that for us, and if He carried them for us, then we don't have to carry them. His work was in vain if we don't believe that!  Healing is God's promise to us. But just because it's God's will for our life doesn't mean it will automatically happen.  We have to believe His promises, and reach out for them in faith, and snatch them for ourselves.  Everything you receive from God you receive by faith, amen.  A key factor in releasing your faith is the words that come out of your mouth. There is power released into your life when you speak God's Word. It is a vital part of appropriating God's promise and activating spiritual forces that will bring God's promises to manifestation.

This is why people don't want to believe it!  Jesus said in Mark 11:23-24 that "That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have.

The Word is the most powerful medicine available today, and it is capable of healing your body without side effects. Psalm 107:20 says: "He sent his Word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." You notice that the Psalmist said the Word came and healed and delivered you from your destruction. It did not say it came and it might heal you, but came and healed, which means you were already free from the infirmity. Healing is real as far as God is concerned because it was in the atonement (Isaiah 53:5,6). However, it takes time to develop faith in the matter of healing principles so don't let anyone put you under condemnation for seeing your doctor. We all have to operate on our own level of faith, but don't let anything keep you at that level forever because God has better for you.

As you properly apply God's Word over the situation you may be experiencing, your faith will grow to the level where it will be common for you to receive healing in your body. It doesn't happen overnight, but you must begin to apply God's principles so you can experience His best for your body.

God uses spiritual forces which are not seen to nullify natural things that are seen. When you are experiencing something in your body, don't speak what you feel, speak what the Word says. When you begin to use God's method of calling what you desire (Romans 4:17), your body will begin to respond to your faith and demand healing to come forth.

Let's take our medicine:

The Word of God is a daily medicine not just for our minds and soul, but also for our physical bodies.  He sent His Word and healed us, and delivered us from our destructions; (Psalm 107:20).  Exodus 23:25 says, "And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and He shall bless your bread, and your water; and He will take sickness away from the midst of you."

 CONFESSION:

Read John 5:1-9:

"1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?  The impotent man answered him, Sir I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath."
