Bible Study: “God’s Love” Introduction:

God's love is not like ours. Human love is an intense affection for another person that is based on feelings and can change from moment to moment. In contrast, divine love is unconditional because it is not based on what we do or don't do, but on God's nature. God's nature is consistent, and so is His love for us. If Christ is our Savior, we never have to worry that the Lord is angry with us.

Perhaps the best example of the nature of God's love is the story of the prodigal son, found in Luke chapter 15. The father's love never changed even though the son left home, wasted his wealth, and ended up destitute. As soon as the father saw his son returning, he ran to him and hugged him—not because he started to love him at that moment, but because he'd never stopped loving him. And that's the kind of love God has for us.

God's love is also sacrificial. Because He is holy, true, and just, everyone who sins must bear the penalty for his sins (Ezekiel 18:4 ). That's why we all deserve to be separated from the Lord forever. Yet He also loves us and desires that we be saved. That's why He sent His Son to pay the penalty for our sin. This was the only way He could remain true to His nature and still forgive sins.

The Son of God was born of a virgin, grew to adulthood, and died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for us. Jesus' resurrection proved that His death was sufficient payment for all mankind's sin. Now when we believe in Christ and repent of our sins, God is able to justly forgive us because the penalty for our sins has been fully paid by His Son. Without Jesus, there would be no forgiveness of sins.

Jesus came to give mankind eternal life. We don't have to understand all that's involved in the process; we simply need to respond to the Holy Spirit's conviction,

recognize our sinful condition, and ask Jesus to forgive us and save us. At that moment, the Lord seals us for Himself with His Holy Spirit forever (Ephesians 4:30). Nothing can break His seal because it is held fast by His power. When Christ is our Savior, we are eternally secure, awaiting our redemption as children of God. AMEN.

Our study Prayer:

Father God, I come into your presence so aware of my human frailty and yet overwhelmed by your love for me. I thank you that there is no human experience that I might walk through where your love cannot reach me. If I climb the highest mountain you are there and yet if I find myself in the darkest valley of my life, you are there. Teach me today to love you more. Help me to rest in that love that asks nothing more than the simple trusting heart of a child. Father, as we study on You love bless us to remember that You first loved us. BIBLE STUDY: “KNOWING GOD’S WILL” Conclusion:

God still work Miracles:

Know God's Will

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. —Hebrews 11:1

It's important to know God's will regarding the healing you need because faith only operates on God's known will. For example, if I told you I had $1000 in my pocket, you wouldn't come running over to me to get it because I never promised I'd give it to you. You'd realize I had the money, but that wouldn't necessarily mean it was for you. But suppose I said to you, "I have $1000 in my pocket, and I want to give it to you. Just come and get it." At that point, you'd have my promise as a foundation for your faith. And undoubtedly you'd quickly take hold of my promise and come receive your money. Once you knew my will on the matter, you would be confident to receive or operate in faith. It's the same way with God. You can't operate in faith until you know what His will is in a matter. But as you go through His Word, you can find His will concerning anything you need, including healing. You can find out Jesus took your infirmities and bore your sicknesses. You can discover by Jesus' stripes, you are healed. You can know beyond a shadow of a doubt God wants you well.

Confession:

I know absolutely and without a doubt God's will for me regarding healing. Jesus took my infirmities and bore my sicknesses because my Father wants me well.

NUGGETS:

A Closing Thought:

The next time you begin to ponder God's plan for your life. I would encourage you to mull over the lessons in this study. Use these principles to help you to gain His plan. And when you seek His will earnestly, you will find it!

My Confession:

My Confession: Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. I hear the Word on healing, act on it, and confidently receive my healing.

Week # 13            NUGGETS:

"What is the true meaning of Christmas?"

The true meaning of Christmas is love. John 3:16-17 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." The true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of this incredible act of love.

The real Christmas story is the story of God's becoming a human being in the Person of Jesus Christ. Why did God do such a thing? Because He loves us! Why was Christmas necessary? Because we needed a Savior! Why does God love us so much? Because He is love itself (
1 John 4:8). Why do we celebrate Christmas each year? Out of gratitude for what God did for us, we remember His birth by giving each other gifts, worshipping Him, and being especially conscious of the poor and less fortunate.

The true meaning of Christmas is love. God loved His own and provided a way—the only Way—for us to spend eternity with Him. He gave His only Son to take our punishment for our sins. He paid the price in full, and we are free from condemnation when we accept that free gift of love. "But God demonstrated His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (
Romans 5:8).

According to the study: Questions:

1).     Read the Luke Christmas Story (Luke 1-2) Good story!!!

2).     How was this man in (Luke 6:6, 10) faith was in operation?

By him doing what was impossible, he stretched his hand out through his faith in Jesus.

3).     Why did the man expect results?

He was in faith. We must have faith in God’s Word, which is Jesus our Lord.

4).     How did He get faith?

Verse 6 says Jesus “entered into the synagogue and taught.” The man heard Jesus teach. That’s the way most miracles happened in Jesus’ ministry. People heard Jesus teach, faith arose, and they were healed. And the same will be true for you.

Quiz: Joseph and Mary:

1 Who told Mary and Joseph to go to Bethlehem?

Caesar Augustus. He ordered the people to go back to the city of their forefathers. Joseph's family was from Bethlehem. Luke 2:1.

2 True or False: Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem for the birth of Jesus because they were following a star.

False. As in the previous answer, they went not because an angel told them or because a star led them. They were obedient to the established governmental authority.

3 What form of transportation did Mary and Joseph use to get to Bethlehem? The answer is not a taxi cab.

The Bible does not say how they went from Galilee to Bethlehem. It was an 80 mile trip for them. It is likely that they rode some type of animal, but the Bible gives no details. It is commonly depicted that Mary rode a donkey while Joseph walked along side. But that is simply an artistic depiction. We don't really know.

4 Which Old Testament prophet had the most to say about the birth of Christ?

The book of Isaiah has much to say about the birth of the Savior. If you have ever heard the oratorio by George Handel called The Messiah, you have heard many direct quotes from the book of Isaiah concerning the birth of Christ.

5 In the accounts announcing the birth of Christ (Matthew 1 and Luke 1 and 2) how many times did an angel or angels appear?

At least 3 angelic announcements for the birth of Christ and 1 for the birth of John. For Christ an angel appeared before Mary and Joseph individually and a multitude of angels spoke to the shepherds. For John's birth announcement in Luke 1 Gabriel appeared before John's father to announce the birth of John the Baptist. Matthew 1:20-24; Luke 1:11-20; Luke 1:26-38; Luke 2:9-15.

6 Who told Joseph the baby's name was to be Jesus?

6 An angel in Matthew 1:21. The Bible does not say that this was Gabriel; however, it is assumed to be him since he was the one specifically mentioned as the messenger to Mary and Zacharias in Luke 1.

7 Can you list 5 names of Jesus found in the Bible? Some on my list are from Old Testament prophecies.

Jesus, Emmanuel, the Christ, Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:21, 23.

8 What are the meanings of the names Jesus and Emmanuel?

Jesus means Savior and Emmanuel means God with us. Jesus is the same name as the Old Testament name Joshua which also means Savior. Matthew 1:21, 23.

Shepherds and Wise Men:

9 The shepherds and the wise men went to see Jesus. Which group followed a star and which group went to find the baby because an angel told them where to look?

The shepherds followed the instructions of the angels in Luke 2:9-15. The wise men followed the star to find the place where Jesus was. Matthew 2:1, 2.

10 What did the angels sing to the shepherds?

Technically angels are never said to "sing" in the Bible. Each time they appear they only speak. However, to answer the question, the angels praised God with these words: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." Luke 2:14.

11 When the shepherds went looking for Jesus, what was the sign they were to look for?

A baby, wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. Luke 2:12.

12 How many wise men or kings or magi came to see Jesus?

The Bible does not say how many wise men there were. Tradition says there were three because of the three gifts. There are even names given to the three wise men in different countries and cultures, but we don't really know their names. It is also very likely there were many more than just three

13 Matthew 2:8 says that Herod asked the wise men to inform him where the baby Jesus was. Why does this verse say he wanted to know?

So that he could worship the child. But we know that his intentions were far from worship. Matthew 2:11-18.

14 How old was Jesus when the wise men found him?

It is certain that Jesus was somewhere between a month old and a couple of years old. The wise men saw His star at his birth and began following it. If the journey was 500 miles from Persia and Mesopotamia (around modern day Iraq) then it would have taken at least a month. By the time they arrived Jesus and His family had moved into a house. Later in the story Herod ordered all the children aged 2 years and younger to be killed. Therefore, Jesus was at least a month old and not yet 2 years old. Matthew 2:9-18.

15 What are the three gifts which are mentioned being given by the wise men?

Gold, frankincense and myrrh. Matthew 2:11.

16 Which emperor ordered all the young children be killed?

This was Herod. He ordered all the children in Bethlehem and the outlying areas who were 2 years old and younger to be killed. However, Jesus and His family had already moved to Egypt (Matthew 2:13).

17 What animals does the Bible say were present at the birth of Jesus?

In the New Testament accounts of Christ's birth there is no mention of any animals. However, Isaiah 1:3 could be a prophecy talking about at least a donkey seeing the crib of his Master (God). It could allude to the fact that an ox was there too. If a bunch of shepherds were there, one would assume sheep would have been present. But there is no definite list of animals mentioned in the Bible.

18 What was the name of the unkind innkeeper who would not allow the pregnant Mary to lodge in his inn?

The Bible does not say. Nor does it even say that they were inhospitably turned away from an inn. It just says there was not room in the inn at Bethlehem. There may have been many hundreds of people camping in the streets and countryside during the mandatory census. Luke 2:7.

19 What is the name of the priest who was told he would not die until he saw the Savior?

Simeon. Luke 2:25, 26.

20 Two of the four Gospels do not mention the birth of Christ. Which two?

Neither Mark or John tell the story of the birth of Christ.

Please read these scriptures

Isaiah 53:5

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Matthew 8:17

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

1 Peter 2:24

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Psalm 103:3

Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Matthew 4:23

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

Matthew 8:3

And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Revelation 22:6

And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.

If you would notice all the miracles happened when that person heard God’s Word, believed God’s Word, and spoke God’s Word into their lives. We must continue to read it and believe in our hearts. You never can read the Word of God too much. Read these Scriptures and confess them daily. You will see results, AMEN.
